  •  Our first destination today is Maaloula, a quaint Christian town that suffered near-total devastation at the hands of ISIS in 2014, and is the only place in the world where Aramaic; the language spoken by Christ is still used as a living language Notably, the Greek Catholic Church, although once reduced to ruins, has been painstakingly rebuilt and stands as a testament to resilience and faith.
    • Continuing our expedition, we reach Homs, a city significantly impacted by the Syrian crisis. Here, we gain insight into a different way of life, distinct from that of Damascus. Our time in Homs will afford us the opportunity to explore the city and observe the resilience and spirit of its people amidst challenging times.
    • Next, we journey to Krak Des Chevaliers, acclaimed as “the most wholly admirable castle in the world” by Lawrence of Arabia, and one of the most important preserved medieval crusader castles in the world. Prepare to be captivated by this historic marvel as we delve into its fascinating history during our visit.

  • Day 3

  • Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the hotel before embarking on an exciting journey to Palmyra, a city known as “the city of palms” to the Romans and “Tadmor” (a miracle in Aramaic) to the Syrians, Palmyra stands as a captivating oasis in the vast Syrian desert. Surrounded by endless golden sands, it boasts a mesmerizing landscape adorned with columns, remnants, and palm trees, all bearing witness to the city’s former grandeur, which once sent tremors through mighty Rome.
    • Among Palmyra’s treasures is the awe-inspiring Temple of Bel, akin to what Zeus represented for the ancient Greeks. This majestic temple stands as the largest and most remarkable building in Palmyra, exquisitely combining elements of Greco-Roman and Oriental-inspired architecture, a true marvel to behold.
    • As we traverse the city, we encounter the grandeur of the theater and the expansive colonnade, stretching over a kilometer. This monumental path once welcomed caravans arriving from the vast desert, leaving a legacy of trade and cultural exchange etched into the city’s history.
    • Palmyra’s intrigue extends to its tombs, presenting a variety of styles, including tomb towers, carved tombs, temple tombs, and individual resting places. Each tomb holds its own tale, adding to the rich tapestry of Palmyra’s past.
    • After an unforgettable exploration of Palmyra’s wonders, we return to Damascus. Relish a delicious dinner and unwind in the comfort of the hotel, where you can reflect on the day’s fascinating discoveries.
  • Day 4

  • Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a captivating journey toward the South of Syria.
    • Our first stop is Bosra, a city steeped in ancient history, dating back to the 14th century BC, as mentioned in the inscriptions of Akhenaton. Bosra’s most impressive monument is the renowned Roman theater, a masterpiece from the 2nd century AD, considered one of the most beautiful and remarkably preserved in the world. Spanning an impressive 45 meters in length and 8 meters in depth, this grand amphitheater can accommodate an astonishing seventeen thousand spectators.
    • Marvel at the splendor of the Roman theater and explore the other fascinating monuments that bear testimony to the city’s rich past. After this enriching experience, we will continue our journey, eventually reaching Beirut for your final departure.
