The Ministry of Higher Education is in charge of higher education, so it offers higher education at universities, higher institutes and medium institutes. Education at most Syrian public universities is free. And of course, general medicine programs require 6 years to complete. The academic year at universities in Syria is 30 weeks divided into 2 semesters. As for the private universities, unlike public universities, there's a difference in the system, such as the summer semester, which gives the student more time to complete a year's resolution and that isn't available in public universities.
